Overview

The C 9.5 is the first step-up model in the all new front-drive series, joining the base C 7.5, the C 12.9 and the top of the line Commercial 14.9.

With loads of great features, including web-enabled touchscreen, lots of built in workouts/resistance levels and incline capability, this one is hard to beat for the price.

Let’s take a look at some of the best features..

Limitless Workout Options

The NordicTrack C 9.5 gives you 32 built-in workouts, plus even more through the iFit Coach technology built right into the machine. iFit also provides Google maps of worldwide running trails, tracking and sharing capabilities, personal trainer guidance and much more.

You also get 24 digital resistance levels to ramp up your efforts and up to 20 degrees of power incline. So there are endless ways for you to vary your workouts, even if you choose manual mode instead of one of the many programs.

Internet Access Built In

Unlike its little brother, the entry level C 7.5 elliptical trainer, the C 9.5 gives you a 7″ web-enabled Smart HD touch screen, so you can surf the internet, watch movies or do whatever it is you like to do online as you work out on the machine. You can also access iFit Google maps right on the machine, rather than having to do so on your tablet like you would on the C 7.5 model.

Additional Features

On top of the incline, resistance levels and workout programs, you get a power adjustable stride of 19 inches, oversized pedals, heart rate sensors, workout fan, an iPod compatible sound system and a tablet holder.

NordicTrack C 9.5 Test Drive

NordicTrack has done a nice job with their new elliptical lineup. All of the machines seem to be improved versions of previous models, with added features and/or capabilities.

The C 9.5, although priced quite high when it first came out, is currently selling at about $999, which is an amazing price given what it has to offer. The touch screen with Internet is a nice upgrade from the basic LCD display on the base C 7.5 model. We’re seeing this more and more these days, and it’s nice to get that capability on such a value priced elliptical.

The iFit Coach technology is one of the major selling points here. In addition to professional trainer designed workout programs and tracking capability, you also get to choose any location in the world to train in via Google maps, and the machine automatically adjusts the incline to match the terrain. A very cool feature.

There are so many ways to keep your workouts exciting, from the 32 built-in programs to adjustable incline, resistance and stride. You can do everything from the touchscreen or use your tablet instead, and it is kept away from the main screen so it doesn’t block your stats.

You can monitor your heart through the integrated grips. If you’re looking for wireless heart rate monitoring, which is a bit more accurate, you’ll have to bump up to the C 12.9 or top of the line Commercial 14.9 model.

All in all we liked our workouts on the C 9.5. We used the Google maps to choose various locations across the globe, and it worked seamlessly with the machine. We did a few ramped up workouts at the top resistance levels, and the machine remained relatively quiet even at the highest levels.

Conclusion

The C 9.5 is a great addition to the elliptical lineup at NordicTrack. It’s likely going to be one of the best sellers due to its low price and the fact that you get a touch screen with internet.

If you’re in the market for a sub $1000 elliptical, the new C 9.5 from NordicTrack is a very good choice for the home user.

If you don’t need internet built in and want to save a couple of hundred, consider the C 7.5. If you want wireless heart rate monitoring and more resistance levels and workouts, look at the 12.9 and 14.9, also new for 2016.
