Their elliptical machines tend to be on the pricey side but once you factor in the warranty, the free shipping, the sale, you’re in good shape. As far as the warranties are concerned, Smooth says, “Our elliptical warranties include lifetime coverage for the frame and braking system and depending on the model, 3 to 5 years coverage for parts & electronics and 2 years coverage for in-home service.” I would recommend picking one of their ellipticals with the 5 year coverage on parts and electronics. 3 years is great, but you won’t get 5 years out of many elliptical manufacturers and if you’re going to go with Sole, you might as well take advantage of them. And, you can trust them; they do a great job at standing behind their warranties.

I have heard mixed reviews, however, on the quality of Smooth’s support team. It’s not uncommon to hear of terrible customer service from exercise equipment providers. Often times it can be a real pain in the neck to connect with helpful support representative. That being said, I always recommend going straight through the manufacturer than through a third party site like Sears. Far more people have problems with delivery and setup with Sears and other third party stores than with the manufacturer’s themselves. So I would say customer service is Smooth’s weak spot. That, and their prices but don’t buy from Smooth unless you’ve got a coupon code or can get the machine at discount price.
