Expert Reviews

“The 710 E can be a decent machine for the right person. If you are a moderate to light weight person this may be your machine. If you are a large, or very tall individual this machine is not for you.” – Treadmill Doctor

“While the drive system is fairly robust, the warranty, stride feel, and stability all let the machine down. Overall this unit is only a few notches above the entry level Proform front drive elliptical. The extra features are not worth the increase in price tag over the Proform 510E.” – Elliptical Trainers

“If there is a problem with ProForm ellipticals, it is the fact that often customers buy a machine that is not compatible to their fitness needs. When you spend under $1,000 for a crosstrainer, you are buying in the budget range.” – Fitness Equipment Source

“The ProForm 710 E Elliptical is brand new for 2012. The front drive design takes up very little room. The stride length of the 710E is adjustable from 18” to 20″ to fit most users. Plus, you can adjust the incline higher than most ellipticals – up to 20 degrees – for an extra strenuous workout. With twenty resistance levels and an iPod-compatible music port, you will never get bored!” – Treadmill World

User Reviews

“Very happy. As described. Manual is very week as far as assiting you to operate if you are unfamiliar with Elipticals. I did call customer support and they were helpful. The stride is adjustable but not intuitive. Fan is very weak. Smooth and quiet.” – ProForm customer

“I’ve had this model for less than 1 month. From day 1 it would make hum as if the ramp was actually calibrating but it never actually moved. There has probably been less than 6 hours use in the 13 days since I put together and it suddenly “calibrated” on it’s own with no one using it then made some grinding sounds and locked in the 20 degree incline. It can still be used but won’t move from 20 degrees. It took me about 2.5 hours to put together and makes a clunking sound at high speeds. I don’t use the fan but it points at your stomach and is kind of weak. It’s easy to use and has a nice display though.” – Amazon customer

“Great elliptical. I’m a 31 yr old female and put it together myself. The programmed workouts are great. Only complaint would be the fan. It isn’t adjustable so it doesn’t hit me directly in the face.” – ProForm customer

“I was so excited when I first received my Elliptical 710 E. The directions were fairly easy and assembly took about 2 to 3 hours. Very quiet, very smooth!! Customer service is amazing and the product itself speaks volumes!! I would definitely recommend investing in a Proform product 1st and foremost if you want quality for your money! I would even more suggest the 710 E because I personally own one, but I would most likely stand behind any of their products.” – ProForm customer

The ProForm 710 E is a quality elliptical that is sure to not let you down, yet for its higher price tag many experts advise going with the 510 E instead for 200 dollars less yet having similar features. If you do decide to go with the 710 E instead, it is sure to give you good results as most users loved the quality build of their elliptical.

Many did complain of the fan, as it weak and not adjustable so it often points toward your abdomen instead of your face, this may be something you want to consider if this feature is of importance to you. Overall the ProForm 710 E elliptical is a quality built machine that is sure to give you a good workout, yet you may want to look further into the 510 E if you want to save a couple hundred dollars on a similar product.
