Expert Reviews

“The NordicTrack Freestrider 35 S takes the best benefits of incline training and elliptical training and combines them for a high power, low impact workout. The incredible 35” variable stride length doesn’t restrict you to one set stride length, but lets you find your natural stride, regardless of height or ability.” -Elliptical-Trainers

“The NordicTrack FreeStrider 35 S is an exciting machine with some really cool features. It is a machine that is great for the individual that is limited on space, but needs a robust machine that offers a substantial workout on a daily basis.” -Treadmill Sensei

“According to reviewers, the NordicTrack FreeStrider 35 S is sturdy and durable, as evidenced by its lifetime frame warranty. One expert thinks the workout may be too hard for beginning exercisers because of the somewhat awkward range of motion.” -ConsumerSearch.com

User Reviews

“The stability and smooth “range of motion” action of the Freestrider 35S makes one forget he or she is having a workout. Today, in my second only workout, my teeshirt was literally soaked, but I felt like I could have gone another 40 minutes.” -Bosco (Bethesda, Maryland)

“Bought online with no tax or shipping. Beat everything else out there. Gives both me an my wife a great workout. I think this type machine will take over the market now that the price is down. Also, you have to call nordictrack to get a full five years of warranty, but it was also a bargain compared to department stores. All in all we are extremely pleased.” -C. Griswold (Chicago, IL)

“An excellent concept – an all-in-one elliptical and stair-stepper. Mine was delivered and assembled this weekend, and at this time I am extremely happy with my purchase. The Freestrider is quiet, doesn’t take up much space, and provides several options for a great workout.” -GettingFit (New Braunfels, TX)

“I really can’t understand why there are not more reviews for this product. Doing the full 35 inch stride will kick your butt in a way that a regular elliptical can not compete with. Even when I take an elliptical and crank the ramp up to an incline level of 30 percent and the resistance set at 100%, I never feel like I am really getting a good workout.” -badbob (alpharetta, ga)

“Now that we have it I am on it 3 to 5 times a week and so is the hubby…he is sold too. The missing star is because there is a clicking noise I hear if my ipod is not on! but over all the quality of this machine is Top of the line…trust me I looked for 6 months before I bought.” -tbird (Denver)

“I started out only able to last 4 minutes. I am 73 years old and am now up to 20 minutes a day. Bought the machine in December; this is something I can do!!” -Barb (Destin, Florida)

Conclusion

The NordicTrack FreeStrider 35 S is an elliptical that also mimics a stair stepper. This machine is not like any other elliptical you have found thus far. This elliptical offers a 35″ stride length, which is one of the largest in the market right now. This elliptical has been around for a while, and all of the user reviews you find online seem to love this machine! NordicTrack just recently dropped the price, so I would take advantage of that now.

I would only recommend this elliptical to those who want to achieve a hardcore workout. This machine may not be the best for beginners, or anyone with joint problems. The large stride length gives this machine a challenging workout. The stride length accommodates most users, but it is challenging at the same time. This machine also comes with many features that will benefit your workout such as 16 resistance levels, 15 workout apps, 15 target toning workout, and the iFit Technology (compatibility).

**LATEST UPDATE** We took the new replacement model, the FreeStride Trainer FS7i for a test drive, and must say we are impressed with the upgrades on this machine from the previous 35s model. It now has a 38″ stride, a much higher weight capacity (375 lbs.), incline capability and a number of other great new features. Absolutely a great improvement in every way. Take a close look at this one.
