Expert Reviews

Most of the reviews we have read on the FreeMotion 510 elliptical have been positive. It’s a gym quality machine and the experts all agree that these are well made ellipticals with a lot of great features. Still, they agree that it’s very expensive for the home user, and that they will likely be just as happy with ellipticals from Sole, Proform or NordicTrack and save a few thousand dollars. That said, if money is no object, the pros say you can’t go wrong with any of the FreeMotion machines.

UPDATE: The 510 elliptical is no longer available. Check out a wide selection of new FreeMotion ellipticals on sale here.

“Coming in at nearly $5,000 the 510 elliptical trainer from FreeMotion has some pretty big competitors. With companies like Precor offering an industry trusted design for the same money, the 510 is in a really tough market. We felt this machine was just ok.” – Elliptical Trainers

Experts agree that it is a hefty price tag for the FreeMotion 510. Also, they note that ICON offers a lifetime warranty on the frame but only 1 year parts and labor. As such you might want to consider an extended warranty.

User Reviews

Users love the machines. Perhaps they are justifying the hefty price tag they paid 🙂 but most are very happy with the quality, the features and the capabilities that a gym quality machine like the 510 offers. If you buy one let us know your thoughts and we’ll include them when we next review the FreeMotion ellipticals.

I purchased this elliptical trainer a year ago and have been extremely happy with the quality and functionality of the equipment. Highly recommend! – Amazon buyer THS3

Conclusion

The FreeMotion 510 Rear Drive is one of the better ellipticals by Icon Fitness, with an impressive 30 workout apps, Polar wireless chest strap heart monitoring, iFit technology, incline capability and space saver design. It is similar to the sister model, the 570 interactive, except that it doesn’t offer decline capability and has a few less workout programs.

You can check out the new FreeMotion 510 here at the official site to see if it’s what you are looking for. They used to offer them for sale on Amazon but it appears that is no longer the case. Hopefully they’ll come back at some point because they had some great deals there.
