Expert Reviews
Finding expert Stamina InMotion elliptical reviews is not an easy task. The reason for this is that the experts tend not to bother with machines in this price range, simply because they know they’re not going to be that great. As far as elliptical trainers, usually those machines $500 and up get attention. So for this one we have to rely on user feedback and our own test drive.
User Reviews
Because of the price tag, the InMotion ellipticals tend to be very popular. Surprisingly, the reviews are not so bad. Our go to place for user reviews on many different ellipticals is Amazon. They sell a ton of InMotion ellipticals there, so it’s a good source for unbiased reviews.
Looking at the cheapest model, the InMotion E1000 elliptical, there are currently over 1600 reviews, and the average rating is 4 stars out of 5. That’s really pretty good for a cheap piece of equipment. Looking closer at the breakdown, over 1100 of those users gave it 5 or 4 stars, another 260 gave it 3 or 2 stars, and only 210, or 14%, gave it just one star.
The positive Stamina InMotion elliptical reviews focused on the fact that they are very small and very compact, and can easily fit anywhere from the closet to under your desk at work to your work out bag. Users also like the fact that you can go backwards or forwards and it’s very easy to put it together once you take it out of the box.
The negative reviews are for the most part expected. Some users complained about the quality of the machine (but what can you expect for $100 or so dollars?) Others found that the digital counter that monitors your calories, distance and resistance was inaccurate.
One of the more common complaints about the InMotion elliptical is the fact that the stride length is very short. So if you are a taller individual or if you are used to the longer strides you get on the gym machines then this might not be the machine for you. But again, long stride ellipticals always cost more than shorter stride ellipticals.
Another negative that is fairly obvious on the InMotion E1000 elliptical is the lack of handlebars. So you can either sit down in a chair and use it or if you can balance yourself you can stand and use it. Standing up without holding on does make it more challenging and core-engaging but again, if you are used to a gym machine you might find it difficult to balance.
Stamina does carry a model with handlebars now which is a bit more expensive but solves that issue for you. There is also a Compact Strider model with a handle and one with body cords that you can work your arms with. So there are a number of different models to choose from with a few different colors and features.
All in all, given the extremely low cost, this is not the worst option in the world if you just want to do a quick workout at your desk or burn some calories while you are watching TV. There are a lot of people who have bought these machines and for the most part, reviews have been pretty good.
Conclusion
The Stamina InMotion Elliptical is certainly not the best elliptical in the world. But for a few hundred dollars for the most expensive model, you really can’t expect it to be. This is a very basic machine, with bare bones features and capabilities, for those looking for something compact and light weight and easy to use anywhere, at any time.
Should you buy one? That’s up to you. Having tried so many ellipticals out there, we’re used to the more standard elliptical trainers, and used to all of the features they provide. So if you are looking for a great machine with built in workouts and capabilities that you can use for years and years, this might not be the best choice.
However, if you just want to tone up and burn some calories when you’re at work or just sitting around then this is perfectly fine. It’s cheap enough that if it breaks in a few years you’re not going to be that upset about it. And if you use it every day for a couple of years it is well worth the few hundred you paid for it.
We will be adding Stamina InMotion elliptical reviews for all of the different available models so you have more specific information on each one. This will help you narrow down your choices if you decide this is the right machine for you.
