The TRUE ES700 elliptical is truly a top of the line cardio machine, offering everything you would expect to find in this price range. Yes, at around $4,799 to $5,399 on sale depending on which console you choose, it’s a very expensive undertaking, but this elliptical is a winner that doesn’t disappoint.

Here are some of the standout features from our in-depth TRUE ES700 elliptical review…

Industry Leading Stride Lengths

Unlike the other models in the series, like the M30 that offers 21″, the ES700 offers a wide range of 16″ all the way up to a whopping 27″, accommodating every possible user from the shortest to the tallest. You can definitely find your ideal stride as well as experiment with others to change it up.

Cardio 360

All of the TRUE ellipticals feature this patented virtual personal trainer. It puts you through a series of workouts targeting all of the different muscle groups to maximize your results and hit all of the spots you want to target.

Small Footprint

With their center drive construction, all of the TRUE ellipticals are extremely space-friendly. Although not as small as the M30 or M50, at 49″ in length the ES700 is still a space saver, making it easy to incorporate into the home gym environment.

Heart Rate Cruise Control

Another patented TRUE feature, find your ideal heart rate and keep it there the whole workout with HRC Cruise Control. It automatically adjusts the elliptical to keep you in that target range so you can get the most out of your workouts.

AutoStride Technology

Unlike the other models, the TRUE ES700 features something called AutoStride, which automatically selects the ideal stride length for you at various speeds based on your body’s natural movements. This is a cool feature, especially for beginners who aren’t quite sure how the motion is supposed to feel.

Console Options

Another unique feature on this elliptical is the fact that you can choose from two console options: the regular Emerge LED console that you find on all models and the T9 touch screen console (for an additional $600).

The T9 Console offers you touch screen technology, with built in Bluetooth capability connecting you to your favorite fitness apps. It also gives you 28 workouts (more than double that offered on the Emerge console) including heart rate, HRC Cruise control, weight loss, performance, pace, distance, hill and Gerkin Fitness test (lung health test).

Definitely a good idea to go with the upgraded console. Gives you a ton more to work with.

Additional Features

The TRUE ES700 also offers a reading rack/tablet holder, heart rate sensors and wireless reading capability (Polar wireless chest strap included), sleep mode and the TRUE Lock system which actually locks the footpads into place for enhanced safety.

Upgrades to the other two models include an accessory tray, an additional two years on parts and electronics (7 as opposed to 5 on the others), extended handrails and moisture-proof grips, a lower step-up height for easier access and a higher max weight capacity (350 lbs.)

What didn’t we like?

There isn’t much about the TRUE ES700 elliptical not to like, besides perhaps its hefty price tag. You can definitely get a quality machine with just as many features for about half that price. But given the quality, the comfort features and the small footprint, it’s worth the expense if you can afford it.

As with the other models the warranty isn’t fantastic…only 7 years on parts and 1 year on labor. That could definitely be better for the price you are paying. But these machines are built strong, so broken parts and maintenance shouldn’t be an issue for you.

It’s also not web-enabled, so you can’t browse the internet or watch videos, something that is becoming more common, especially on high end machines.

What’s the bottom line?

For those with a high budget looking for a rock solid machine for their home gym, the TRUE ES700 elliptical is as good as it gets. It’s an absolute pleasure to use: super quiet, great workouts, comfortable pedals, generous stride, great heart rate monitoring features.

We definitely recommend the Escalate console if you’re going to opt for the ES700, as it makes the machine that much more enjoyable to use. You can listen to music, take advantage of many more workout options and download your workout for easy app integration and sharing.
