Expert Reviews

UPDATE: As of 2018 it seems that Yowza may be out of business. Check out our Best Ellipticals section for our expert’s top picks in all price ranges.

“The Sanibel i35 gives you dramatically more adjustability than any other elliptical in this price range. Sole ramps don’t adjust the ellipse motion nearly as much as Yowza does making the Yowza adjustment much more effective.” – Treadmill Doctor

“The Yowza Sanibel may look like an average elliptical, and in many ways it does not stand out much from the rest of the competition. However, Yowza has a track record of trying out different technologies and innovations and the Sanibel is no exception.” – Fit Rated

“Many ellipticals that cost more than $1500 come with a wireless chest strap to monitor your heart rate. However, even with the $1800 price of the Sanibel, it doesn’t include this add-on.” – Treadmills411

User Reviews

There are many customer reviews for the Sanibel on the Yowza website, but there are also some reviews found on Amazon and other places around the web. Here are some of the reviews that I find to be the most helpful for those thinking about purchasing the Sanibel.

“My husband and I are both impressed with the sturdiness of the machine. It is very quiet and smooth. We love the handle bars, much better than the push pull of the older versions, we had never seen handle bars like this on an Elliptical. ” – Christine Foote, Amazon customer

“Dislikes: 1. Clicking Noise from gears where the arms connect. 2. Noise from the wheels on the front of the unit when exercising at moderate or greater levels. 3.Occasional clicking noise from the rear of the unit. 4. No IFit capability. 5. Customer service from the company is questionable.” – Matt, Amazon customer

“So far I really like the cardio core handlebars over traditional forward and back models. You actually feel like you doing more for your upper body. Also as you increase your stride the stroke/motion of the bars increase.” – Jay Jeffrey, Amazon customer

“I will say, even with the ‘knocking sounds’ i can already see the Sanibel is a remarkable machine and I really look forward to having the luxury of exercising anytime I choose!” – B H., Yowza customer

Conclusion

Through our Yowza Sanibel reviews we have discovered that they have really improved these ellipticals since we first reviewed them years ago. They have upped the features and capabilities, and the Cardio Core rotating handlebars are something you don’t find on any other elliptical machines.

They have also added the electronic adjustable stride from 18 to 26 inches which is great for users of all heights, and have comfortable, articulating foot pedals.

If we were to point out any negatives, it would have to be the archaic look of these machines. It’s as if someone designed them in the 1970s as a “futuristic” workout machine. We’re surprised with all of the cool features that these machines just don’t look very cool or modern.

Also, they only offer an ipod docking station so you’ll need an adapter to make any other music players work.

All in all, these are very good machines in the price range. They offer a unique way to really target the upper body, impressive incline capability and a very solid warranty. You can’t go wrong with the Yowza Sanibel.
