Overview: The Nautilus E618 is the newest elliptical in the company’s lineup, joining the E616 and E614 and models. It’s part of the new Performance Series, created for more serious workouts with more programs and capabilities. Still, the warranty is not as impressive as we would have liked.

Let’s look at some of the best features…

Generous Stride Length

The new E618 gives you a 20″ stride, as did the previous top of the line model, the E616 elliptical. This can accommodate even the tallest of users, making it ideal for the entire family.

Lots of Workout Options

There are 29 workout programs, including heart rate, interval, calories and custom, allowing you to choose the ideal one for your particular fitness goals. You can also use Nautilus Connect to sync the machine via Bluetooth with your favorite fitness apps for tracking your results, setting goals for yourself and sharing with friends and family.

Heart Rate Monitoring

The new Nautilus E618 elliptical has both grip and wireless heart rate monitoring. A wireless chest strap is also included, which is a nice addition as it is not included with any of the other models, including the mid-level E614.

Adjustable Console

Another new feature not found on the other Nautilus ellipticals is the adjustable Sightline console, which you can adjust to the perfect angle for personal viewing. This is a nice touch that you son’t often find on elliptical machines, even the pricier ones.

Other Nice Features

Another upgrade on the E618 is multi position handlebars with the incline and resistance adjustment built right into it. This makes it much easier to make changes on the fly, instead of having to lean in to change it on the display. There’s also an optimized drive train (30 lb. flywheel), suspension adjust cushioning, and an increased 350 lb. max weight limit (up from 300 lb. on the E616 model)

Anything we didn’t like?

Although we love the upgrades on this new model, As with the rest of the Nautilus ellipticals we’re not happy with the warranty. Although 5 years on parts and 2 years on labor is great, only 15 years on the frame and motor at this price level is just not acceptable. Most ellipticals over $800 will have a lifetime frame warranty these days. Other than this, we like how they have upgraded the elliptical.

Nautilus E618 Elliptical – Bottom Line

If you definitely want to go with a Nautilus elliptical, the E618 is definitely the best model in their lineup. It has a nice array of workout programs, cardio fitness with free wireless chest strap, power incline, workout tracking/syncing and a bright, adjustable console with all of the relevant metrics.

Still, it’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend any $1000+ elliptical without a lifetime warranty on the frame. Your best bet is to get additional coverage just for peace of mind if you do choose the E618 or any other Nautilus elliptical.
