What are the Top Ellipticals At Amazon? Our Experts Break it All Down

One of the most popular places to buy ellipticals these days, and let’s face it, everything else, is Amazon. The online retail behemoth is just getting bigger and bigger each day, with more customers, more products and of course, more revenue.

So naturally, elliptical sales are growing as well and Amazon features the widest selection of elliptical trainers anywhere, from entry level basic models under $200 all the way up to top of the line commercial models at $3,000 and up.

We decided to take a look at the 2019 elliptical selection at Amazon to see what it was all about, and to give you a general overview of the top picks in various categories.

Let’s get started…

Best Selling Ellipticals at Amazon

Not surprisingly, the top 5 best selling ellipticals at Amazon are all under $300. These products are very affordable and although they are not the most advanced cardio machines on the market, they are OK for very basic use.

The #1 seller is the Stamina In-Motion Elliptical Trainer, which costs around $80-$170 depending on which color you pick. It gets 4 stars out of 5 and has almost 4000 reviews.

From there you have the two Sunny Health ellipticals, another Stamina machine and the Cubii Jr. Desk Elliptical rounding out the top 5.

Interestingly, the $6 best seller is the ProForm HIIT Trainer, which at around $750 is quite a jump up in price from the ellipticals making up the top 5.

Highest Rated Ellipticals at Amazon

Now this is a tough one because although you’ll find a number of machines with 5 star feedback, some of them only have one or two reviews so it’s not really a big enough sample size to make a judgement. Still others have a few dozen reviews, but most if not all seem like paid reviews for variations of the same off-brand machine.

So, what we did was select the elliptical with the highest rating combined with the most legitimate ratings, as far as we could tell.

Using these criteria, the #1 highest rated elliptical at Amazon is the Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic, which rates 4 1/2 stars out of 5 with almost 6,000 customer reviews.

The Exerpeutic has way more votes than any other elliptical, but here are the other top rated ellipticals…

The Cubii Jr, one of the top sellers we mentioned above, is also one of the highest rated, at 4 1/2 stars with over 250 votes.

The Sole Fitness E35, has 215 customer reviews and a solid 4 stars out of 5.

The Nautilus E614, is also a 4 star rated elliptical but with only 202 customer reviews.

Cheapest Elliptical at Amazon

The #1 most inexpensive elliptical you’ll find is the Sunny Health & Fitness Air Walk Trainer. At $84, it’s about as cheap as it gets…but this is a very basic machine that we wouldn’t recommend for anything but super light workouts.

Still, it gets 4 stars out of 5 so it’s not the worst choice in the world if your budget is tight.

There are plenty of other choice under $200 including models from Body Rider, Exerpeutic and Marcy…but nothing else under $100. So that’s gonna be your cheapest elliptical at Amazon.

Most Expensive Elliptical at Amazon

The award for the #1 priciest elliptical trainer at Amazon goes to the ABQ Fitness Advanced Pro Silent Elliptical, at a hefty $9,980. We’ve actually never even heard of that brand and there’s no information on the product page at all. So needless to say, we wouldn’t recommend this one.

Moving down on the list we do see brands that we know. You have two Star Trac ellipticals at around $9,200-$9,400; you have the Life Fitness FlexStrider at just under $9,000; you have the Precor AMT and a few other models in the $7,500 to $9,000 range.

For the more expensive high end ellipticals, most people prefer to buy them either directly from the manufacturer or at a retailer like Johnson Health & Fitness or Gym Source. That way you can try the machines out before plunking down thousands of dollars.

But if you’re pressed for time and know the elliptical that you want, there’s no reason not to buy it at Amazon.

Current Brands For Sale

The list of brands at Amazon seems to grow daily, and there are new ones that crop up that we’ve never heard of before.

And that’s not surprising, given the fact that the latest reports put Amazon’s share of the e-commerce market at 49% or 5% of all retail spend. That’s just crazy!

Here is a list of all of the companies that sell ellipticals at Amazon currently:

Entry Level: Stamina, Sunny Health, Exerpeutic, Cubii, Gazelle, Body Rider, Weslo, Ancheer, GoPlus, Marcy, Golds GymFitDesk, ProGear, Health Rider

Mid Range: Nautilus, Schwinn, ProForm, NordicTrack, Sole, Xterra, Kettler, Horizon, AFG, Bowflex, Lifespan

High End: Life Fitness, Precor, Star Trac, Cybex, Landice, Matrix, Octane, TRUE, Vision

Brands Not For Sale

It seems that almost every major brand on the market is available at Amazon in 2019. They don’t carry all models and sometimes they will have an older version of a newer skew, but the brands are all represented.

Currently, Diamondback Fitness does not have its ellipticals for sale there. A few other random brands are not there as well, but for the most part you can find all of them. I guess all of these companies realize that they can’t pass up on such a huge opportunity to put their products in front of millions of eager buyers each day.

What You Should and Should Not Buy At Amazon

As we covered in our Where to Buy section, there are times when it makes sense to buy your new elliptical at Amazon and times when it doesn’t.

For the entry level ellipticals, like Stamina, Exerpeutic, Sunny Health and the others, Amazon is the best place to go. They have the widest selection of basic machines and you can read the thousands of reviews before you make your decision. It’s not a lot of money to spend and worst case scenario you can return the elliptical to Amazon no questions asked.

The same is true for the $300-$600 ellipticals, which are a step up from the entry level models but not really that advanced. You’ll find some Kettlers, Schwinns…brands like this, and those you can get on Amazon as well.

However, when it comes to the mid range brands like NordicTrack, Sole and ProForm, you’re definitely better off going directly to the manufacturer for those. That’s because you can get much better deals, and you will always find the latest available models, as they change quite often.

Amazon will often have ellipticals from these brands that are 2, 3, even 5 years old, and although you may be saving money you’ll probably be happy with a more recent model, as technology is always changing, and usually for the better.

Same holds true for the higher end brands like Life Fitness, Precor, Matrix and TRUE. Sure you can find some of their ellipticals for sale on Amazon, but its not the whole collection, and again it’s sometimes older units. Here you can again go directly to the manufacturer’s site, or stop in a local Johnson Health & Fitness, Gym Source or other high end cardio equipment retailer if it’s convenient.

So Amazon is a great choice for entry level and slightly above entry level ellipticals for the most part, with some exceptions. For everything else, see if you can go directly to the manufacturer site to buy. You’ll likely find much better deals.
